DCSD Phase 2 Construction GMP Proposal Rev 11.04.20(1).pdf
Summary : On August 7, 2020, the Board of Education approved a spend authority for Johnson Controls, Incorporated (JCI) for District-wide fire alarm upgrades in the amount of $3,700,000 for the 2020-2021 school year.

A Design/Build Agreement was previously executed with JCI for design services. The cost for design did not exceed the spending threshold for Board approval.

The Second Amendment provides for the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for construction services and exceeds the spending threshold for Board approval. The total project cost remains within the Board approved $3,700,000 spend authority.

JCI has competitively procured all construction scopes of work from multiple electrical contractors on the District’s list of approved vendors.

A GMP for construction services has been submitted by JCI, which includes a contingency.
